Lifeline Global Ministries holds an annual event call Returning Hearts Celebration. This event is one of my favorite things to do because it unites children and their incarcerated fathers for an unforgettable day of games, food, relationship building and Bible teaching.
I make several hundred pinewood derby cars for this event and provide a race track for the children and fathers to race their cars. Each child gets to choose a car and then compete in a race against their dad. They get to take their cars home as a keepsake to remember the fun time they had together.
Being in prison doesn’t stop these men from being parents. This day is designed to provide time for fathers to talk with their children and help them to have a positive effect on their children. I’m happy to partner with this wonderful ministry in hopes of helping these fathers make better choices and break the cycle of crime.
